+125 You wonder why on earth parents let their 13 and 14 year old kids go see movies like The Hangover, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

because it was fucking awesome. That's why.

I think it depends on the kid. Also, my parents, who had already seen that movie, watched it again with my younger brother so they could fast forward the bad parts.

Wouldn't that be most of the movie?

The only part he wasn't allowed to see was the end with the camera, actually. The worst part was the language, and my brother's smart enough not to immediately start swearing after seeing it.

Because it's a good movie and they're smart enough to understand that watching people curse and drink in a movie isn't going to harm their kids in any way. I don't understand why parents WOULDN'T let their kids see it. If I had a 10 year old I'd let him/her see it.

Uhhh, parents who trust that their kid is smart enough not to get "corrupted" by rated R movies.

i think that anyone under that age, no, but if they're a teenager it's fine. i

Maybe it's because most kids are okay with differentiating between reality and fantasy and aren't going to go take a car to vegas, get fucked up on roofies and forget they left their friend on a roof just because they saw a movie.

Because why not?

I guess it depends on the family. I couldn't watch rated r movies until I was 14 and sometimes they still fast forward through the sex scenes. I was taught about sex and vulgar language at a young age so I was never really influenced.
