what accent is that?! not boston or new york or new jersey or southern or western or "normal" american or british or australian or irish or south african or canadian or new zelandish(idk if thats the correct term hahah)
by Anonymous12 years ago
Midwestern United States. There is no such thing as "normal" American. I f you listen closely, people in different parts of the same state pronounce vowels differently.
by Anonymous12 years ago
thats why i put normal in "" and i live in the midwest people say crayon
by Anonymous12 years ago
Exactly. I'd be willing to bet that you don't live in the same state and the same part of the state as I do.
by Anonymous12 years ago
i've lived in basically all parts of the country and i rarely hear cran but who cares if there is a part that does. If you say cran then "No Way" the post
by Anonymous12 years ago
I did. But it's very rude to say that there is only one way to pronounce a word when it is pronounced differently by people with different accents. That's like saying my accent is wrong.
by Anonymous12 years ago
dude dont get all politically correct on me here its just a friendly post with no intention of being rude
by Anonymous12 years ago
The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. I believe my accent is fine therefore, I NW this. If you told an English person that the way they pronounce words is wrong, don't you think they'd get a little miffed?
by Anonymous12 years ago
saying someone says a word wrong isn't gunna send me to hell especially if i meant no harm by it so lets relax i dont think anyone is truly hurt by this post and if they are my bad i apologize. This web site is about opinions. if you dont like it just NW it and thats that
by Anonymous12 years ago
I did. I can see you voting your own comment up, and it's just a saying.
by Anonymous12 years ago
okay whats wrong with voting up my own comment?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I got the impression that it's generally thought to be tacky by people on this website. Which is why I've hidden all of my votes. hehheh
by Anonymous12 years ago
are you ashamed of your votes? its not tacky every amirite you post is automatically voted up by you.
by Anonymous12 years ago
No, no. Your posts are automatically voted up by yourself, but it's to hide what your vote was on other posts and comments. You can also technically vote your post down.
by Anonymous12 years ago
okay why are you trying to start an argument over this? really who cares
by Anonymous12 years ago
I really wasn't. My original purpose was just to be a little bit contrary, but then you thought I was serious, so I got upset and decided to support my comment anyway. Then I tried humor, but I guess you did not recognize it as humor. And now I think that you're actually somewhat angry with me, because I disagreed and commented why I disagreed, while also exaggerating my disagreement to be contrary and amuse myself. I also think that you actually do care at least a little bit or else you wouldn't have replied to my original comment.
by Anonymous12 years ago
the point of saying i liked my own comment was to be contrary? and someones a bit sensitive. seeing as this is text you cant really tell when someones being serious so next time try funny humor i think that might work a little better. and im not angry im enjoying this debate and obviously i care thats why i posted this. and you care too thanks why you responded. whats wrong with caring?
by Anonymous12 years ago
You completely missed my point. I give up.
by Anonymous12 years ago
you also missed mine. both of us are at fault clearly. bye
by Anonymous12 years ago
You two are worse than a married couple. Why don't you just agree to disagree.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I'm just glad that shit's over.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Me too.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Okay... I agree that I vehemently believe that I am right because it bothers her.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Honestly, this discussion went from the pronunciation of "crayon" to voting on your own comments. I say this insanity should just stop.
by Anonymous12 years ago
well, crayon doesn't rhyme with maroon like the OP claimed. But I agree with the second half
by Anonymous12 years ago
Crown.
Also lol at ^^^
by Anonymous12 years ago
I mentally cringe when I hear 'cran', but 'crowns' makes me want to throw up. A crown and a crayon are two completely different things.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Award for most unecessary argument goes to ^^^.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Cran is so much easier to say.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I've never heard a person pronounce the "y" or the "o". I've only ever heard "cran".
by Anonymous12 years ago
You have obviously not been to the midwest then...
by Anonymous12 years ago
People in the south say cran. Its an accent kinda thing lol
by Anonymous12 years ago
In the Midwest we color with crans.
by Anonymous12 years ago
It's "cray-on".
by Anonymous12 years ago
I've never heard anyone pronounce it as cran.
by Anonymous12 years ago

by Anonymous12 years ago
