+172 Movies shouldn't premiere on Fridays. Fridays are already exciting enough. They should premiere on Mondays or something, amirite?

It's about money. People most likely aren't going to go out to the movies when they have work or school the next day, but they will if they don't have work/school the next day.

This. The majority of people go to the movies Friday or Saturday, so it's the ideal time to bring out a new one. Also, if I had a choice, I'd say Wednesday night, not Monday, because Wednesday is when the mid-week slump starts.

Probably Thursday, actually. Most religious youth groups meet on Wednesday. Also, if a movie is supposed to be hyped, then it will premiere at midnight, meaning that the employees are scheduled from 10-close on Thursday.

Yeah, then Thursday would be best, where I live Thursday is "late-night" day meaning all the stores are open really late.

Well, in the US, Wal-Mart is open 24/7.

There are sometimes Wednesday premieres for movies in the summer. But I think movies that are more anticipated have weekend premieres so they can maximize their profits on the opening weekend.

I'm too busy getting down on Friday to watch a movie.
