Someone could be speeding and kill someone just the same as someone could be killed in an alley. Just because a cop is doing traffic doesn't mean that there's nobody patrolling. They do both, all the time.

I'm also pretty sure that the amount of vehicle and speeding related deaths is way more than that of murder. So maybe we should have MORE cops catching speeders.
