+301 After you saw your first Harry Potter movie, you realized you had pronounced at least one word wrong in your head, amirite?

Ron.

I thought Hermione was Her-me-own.

I just realized that's probably why Rowling had Krum pronounce it that way. Because if she's saying it, how could he get hermy-own from her-my-on-nee?

I read the book that were currently out at the time, and were thrilled when i heard they were making a film franchise. However, I was somewhat disappointing with the movies. Don't get me wrong, they acting and directing is great, but i always thought it was missing some of the magic that was told to me though the books as a child. But hey, it could be worse, at the least the movies did turn out like this of something: http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x382/HiJenny/Voldy.gif

Seamus Finnigan. I always ALWAYS thought it was pronounced 'See-mus' and I was really young when I watched the first movie...so I only found out in like the fourth movie or something o.O

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's exactly what I thought! I was talking about it with my dad and I said "seem-us" and he laughed and said it was "shame-us." I was like "Whaaat?"

I don't remember it being in the like first 3 movies, but I always thought accio was "uh-see-oh". "ack-ee-oh" sounds so ugly, man.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I take Italian so I pronounced accio 'ah-chee-oh' and I agree that 'ack-ee-oh' sounds ugly.

It sounds like someone about to sneeze, but suddenly they don't have to, so they try to be nonchalant by making it sound like they were saying, "yo".

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I pronounced it " ah see oh"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's the same thing... d

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Really? I read the uh as like huh without the h.

Hermione, accio, and alohomora

I was pronouncing everything incorrectly Like "water" is "wo-er", "hermione" is "her-moy-nee" and "hello" is "ello"

I though Remus was pronouced Ree-moose ono

I was really never sure if it was Az-KA-ban or AZ-ka-ban until they started running the advertisements for the movie. I thought it was Her-mee-own until I saw the first movie, and it will always be "ah-chee-oh" to me.

There were a lot of Harry Potter words I pronounced wrong until I watched the movies: Hermione, accio, Fleur, Grawp (for some reason, I always read it as Gwarp), Morsmordre, and I'm sure there are others.
