+78 As a child, you would have happily traded a $50 bill for a Shiny Charizard Pokemon Card. amirite?

Or Dark Charizard.

1) There is a HUGE difference between the term "shiny" and holographic in the Pokemon world. When I first saw the post I was like "HOLY SHIT THEY HAVE SHINIES ON CARDS?!?" But alas, my dream was crushed upon reading the comments. If they made true "shiny" pokemon on cards, I'm sure they would be worth much more than $50. 2) Even as a little kid, I would rather a holographic Light Arcanine with a move that did 120 damage than a holographic Charizard. My brother had one. I was so jealous, and he used it to kick my butt on many an occasion.

Actually, they do have cards with Shining in the name. I have one of the only two Shining Kabutops I've ever seen.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah they do, I in fact have a Shining Charizard and Shining Raichu. The difference is on the bottom of the card. Their rarity is 3 stars rather than just one and they have Shining in their name of course. Oh and if you think trading one for $50 bucks is ridiculous back in the first generation my stupid cousin got a holo dragonite and he traded it for a half eaten bag of Lays and a Dr. Pepper. Smh...

Shining Charizard! Dude! That's excellent! Do you know how many cards you have?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Nope not sure not a whole lot just a shoe box full in my drawer. My favorite card back then was zapdos damn now I feel like going back and looking through them ha

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This makes me feel pathetic. I have over 1800 cards and I have NEVER seen that before. I have two shiny legendaries on my game, but I have never seen that in cards...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well that sucks for you. Look them up on ebay I think they have shinning magikarp and Gyrados as well

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait, does it have 'Shining" in the name? I've never taken the time to look at the rarity on most of my cards.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I would STILL pay $50 for a holographic Charizard. That was the only card I never got :(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

fukkin steal bro! they were going for $200 on ebay back in the day. haha..but my brother had one of those. damn, i kept all my pokemon cards in an empty baby wipes box and now i cant find them. shame :(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait they're really that expensive? I managed to get 2 of those and I just gave them to friends.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well when they were popular i was like 8, but im pretty sure haha. they were not cheap, and every one was collecting cards back then.
