You rarely call an insurance company straight after watching their advert on tv either, but it still gets their name in your mind for when you do go to buy your insurance. I think it is just to promote awareness of the company.

Also they advertise the stuff you've already looked at. For example I have Paypal and PacSun ads all on my computer because I just ordered stuff from PacSun using Paypal, but it's pretty pointless. If I'm already looking at something online then I don't really need encouragement to look at it more.
