But then anybody could change your password if they entered your username/e-mail.

Not unless they had access to your email. Usually you get an email saying, "Hey! You forgot your password, so here it is."

Yeah, sorry, I didn't think to remember that they would send it to your e-mail to change it and not change it on the website.
