It's like the whole "tomato is a fruit" thing - people just don't associate grapefruit and citrus, just like tomato and fruit (due to its flavour and usual accompaniment). Many of my friends in China continue to refuse my assertions that tomatoes are fruit, and say that "in china" it's different because they see them as vegetables. When I explain why scientifically they are fruits, not vegetables, they persist that China is different. hahaha. It's funny talking to brainwashed people sometimes.
