-140 Why do we study history? Wouldn't you rather learn what happens tomorrow than yesterday? amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If you don't learn about the past, mistakes made yesterday will be made again tomorrow.

We can't see into the future, so we have no choice.

You can if you make a time macne!

"And remember class, we'll be having a test on Thursday over stuff that will happen in four months." "But how do we study for it if it hasn't happened yet?" "SHUT UP! HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT MY TEACHING METHODS! For that, you get the cone of shame!"

Because those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

And those who fail history are required to repeat it.

Haha yess.:) And also... don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. And then...why does history even matter, if we can just get over it, and look on to the tomorrow...what is today but yesterday's tomorrow anyway?

Well, I don't think we should smile because 9/11 happened... or the Holocaust...

If you make a way that allows us to see into the future, then we MIGHT hear you out in this. Until then, stop being the kid who still thinks its cool to get bad grades and not pay attention in class and I can't wait until you get into the real world and you actually have to find friends based of your personality instead of your popularity (I assume you to be that kid)

The best way to predict future behaviors is by observing past actions and patterns. Also, there isn't a field of study called "The Future," so I guess we're gonna have to settle.
