I was on amirite at the time, and someone put "Steve Jobs is dead, amirite?" and anthony put 1000 no way's on it, so i thought it was some hoax or something

it was pretty well known that he had pancreatic cancer, and was very ill, so it was not so much a surprise, yet still very, very sad =[

I heard about it from the Just In section, but within thirty seconds I'd been to the CNN website to confirm it. So for twenty-eight seconds, give or take, I hoped it might not be true.

I think the people who thought it was a hoax were the ones who heard it from other people. The ones who were online and checked apple.com knew it was for real. But the fact that he died the day after the new iphone was unveiled does sound hoax-ish

When I found out it was real, I told my parents and my mom said "Who's Steve Jobs?" And my dad started freaking out screaming "No way!" a lot.
