+631 Hogwarts at Harry Potter World would've been way more fun if, instead of it being a ride, it was a tourable, explorable, life-size recreation of the castle, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Never been there, but I'm sure thats true.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I haven't been either haha, but I can imagine how much better it would be :(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I haven't been there, but that would be amazing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Can't you also explore it? Obviously it's not a life size recreation of the actual castle but I'm pretty sure you can also just walk around in it instead of going on the ride. Plus the ride was fun. d

I think when you wait in the full line, you get to see the castle, but I always went to the single rider's line because I was impatient.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I went in the single rider's line too. But my brother and parents only went on the tour of the castle and not the ride. I really wanted to see more of the castle but they wanted to go home. Now I live forever in regret.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

me too :( Maybe 10-13 years from now when I have kids I'll go through the tour :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

the ride was amazing though!

Do they sell butterbeer there?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's not that good

by Anonymous 12 years ago

YES PLEASE. im not a big fan of roller coasters but you have to go on t to see even the little bit of hogwarts they have

Well they can't make a life size replica because the castle in the films is a bunch of sets. I think it would be so cool if they made a huge castle that was a hotel, and you could stay in, like, the common rooms and dormitories.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just because they had to build the sets in several separate portions for practicality doesn't mean they didn't have plans of the full castle in its entirety, for continuity...it is possible.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I should've emphasized the word replica. They probably did have plans, but obviously the castle they would build wouldn't be a remake of the first one (because there wasn't one).

And then instead of an elevator they can have staircases. It would be cool if they can somehow incorporate the sound of a basilisk every once in a while people are walking up the stairs.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And then I can pop up every so often.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah they should make a Hogwarts hotel. Probably somewhere in London.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But you can go in and tour it and stuff. And the ride is like amazing. its just a long ass wait.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would be pretty much impossible, I think. Too much time and too much money. I went to the Wizarding World and went on the ride. It's actually pretty similar to that idea. There's a really long line you have to wait in, so they've got all these little details in and around the castle to keep you occupied. There's huge statues and awesome moving paintings and the Defense Against the Dark Arts room and Dumbledore's office... it's actually really cool. I also saw the prop exhibit that was in NYC, and that was a lot more like what you seem to be looking for. They had little rooms set up and all the props and even though it was just a regular room and not a stone castle, it really did feel like being in Hogwarts. That's gone now, though. Cool while it lasted.

Imagine the army of janitors that would be required to keep that place clean.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

On second thought, maybe the janitors could be dressed in suits of armor and could thus be another part of the castle experience.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Filch did it...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

...with the help of hundreds of house elves.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

in a way, you could tour it. you have to go through all the rooms to get to the actual ride.
