+72 Guys: you can't wait until the moment when you propose, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Unless she says no.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thats only if its too early or if you did it at a bad time.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

OR if she just doesn't want to marry you...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That means it's too early. She's not ready/in love yet, so she needs more time.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe it's just me but... I'm pretty sure it's possible that someone can be able to not love someone. Just cause someone proposes to you doesn't mean you love or will ever love them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"My parents just died, they were slowly tortured with a piece of glass, by robbers who wanted the information needed to get into my parents bank account" "Jane, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you..." "Are you proposing to me not even half a day after my parents have died?" "...So, I'll ask again tomorrow?"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hes being selfish and proposing at a bad time.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, it was a girl. Samantha was proposing to Jane. They live in New York, they can do that now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh, I'm sorry. Really happy for them, though!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait, what? Lol

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Do you have a problem with Lesbian marriage?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

NOT AT ALL

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Im a girl and this made me smile :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ditto! It's so cute!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not really... there's too much competition to have the most unique proposal. God forbid a guy just says, "hey, I love you and would like to spend the rest of my life with you. Wanna get married?" But no, we gotta go out and buy an expensive ring because some commercial told us that the only way to show our love is through shiny objects.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Aww.. I bet if she loves you enough, she wouldn't care about getting a shiny object. Also, some people don't like the whole "proposing in front of a lot of people" thing. Maybe she'll want exactly what you said: short, to the point and no beating around the bush! :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Personally, im a shy girl. Sure, im outgoing with people i know, but situations i am not familiar with scare me to death. I like outgoing people, so a proposal like that would make me happier than an extravagant one, because if its too over the top, it'll scare me and force me into doing something i might not be ready for.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Me, being a girl, absolutely hate that guys apparently have to buy the perfect and most expensive ring ever in order to propose. It isn't about the ring one bit, and if you think a guy is cheap for only downing one months salary (which us still a lot) on your ring, then you are. Conceited bitch who doesn't deserve the guy! Just saying cuz your comment reminded me of that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I actually know a lot of girls who would rather a guy just do that. It's a lot easier...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Make ME a sandwich, take me on a classic picnic (with a picnic basket and a blanket) underneath the stars away from the city and that will be more than enough. I don't like fancy restaurants. I like relaxed environments. A simple silver band with a nice engraving on it will suffice considering I don't even wear jewelry any more and cannot stand rings. Not all of us are high maintenance, so no worries :) just hope the girl you fall for isn't.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I had a friend do just that for his girlfriend. They're getting married this weekend. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Doesn't have to be fancy. Apparently my dad proposed to my mom with a band aid. .... He didn't have a lot of money... But personally, I'd feel uncomfortable if someone spent too much money on a ring or did somethong overdramatic (and likely out of character). But again, that's just me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why anyone would feel the need to get married in the 21st century is beyond me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I say you just request to be married on Facebook. Totally romantic AND spontaneous. You never know when you'll get the message!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Is it weird that as a guy, I already have it all planned out? first shes going to go to a spa place all day, make her feel special. then we are gonna go eat at a restaurant, a nice one on the beach, and some dancing, cuz the restaurant will definitely have live music. preferably salsa. after that a long walk on the beach under the moonlight, till we reach a little wooden shack, on the actual beach. after that, I pull out my guitar that I keep in the shack, play her a song that I wrote to propose to her, and the last line will be something like "marry me". the ring that I give her will have a little metal slot where Ill put the pick that I used in. so without her realizing, the ring was in my hand the whole time. after she says yes, we go into the shack where thousands of candles (clap on so the shack doesn't set on fire lol) are arranged around the bed in a heart. roses on the bed. I turn on the radio to some slow music, I feel like reggae would fit well, like bob Marley's "is this love" for example haha. and we make sweet passionate love all night long :D Oh and its gonna all happen in miami, then we get married on the beach in puerto rico, in a small wedding chapel i already ...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

wow that's actually pretty cute :) best of luck to you :] ♥

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha thats adorable :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Marry me.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

My iPod is on shuffle, and it got to a really pretty score from Aladdin just as I started reading this. It made this sweet idea even better XD

by Anonymous 12 years ago

while i don't want a proprosal to be extravagent, i'd like it to be at least somewhat romantic and a slightly bigger gesture than saying "hey wanna get married?" i mean i want to know that marrying me means a lot to the guy. i suppose he doesn't have to say that just through the proposal though. anyways, my perfect proposal would just be going out to a park or a nature trail or somewhere where we can be alone and him getting down on one knee and just asking me to marry him. not too simple, not too crazy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I, for one, am scared shitless of having to propose. I've got asking girls out on dates pretty much down, but this is uncharted territory. How do you improve her chances of saying yes? If she says no, how do you deal with all that wasted time and energy (and money)? What if you end up despising her in a year or 2? I'm hoping I can figure this stuff out soon.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure if you've been with the girl for a few years and are comfortable with them, then she's going to be comfortable with you too. Not many people say no, only if you ask them after only a few months of dating or something like that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You should probably date her long enough to be sure you won't despise her in a couple years. Some couples talk about getting married or make plans or something beforehand, so that might make it less hard. Then again, if you're too freaked out to propose, you might not be ready to marry her, or if you are, maybe she'll propose.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well the thought of rejection certainly does suck haha. When I made this post I was just thinking of how incredible the moment will be, how it will be the moment she has always dreamed of, the start of something new, etc.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A romantic seen on the top of a hill you get down on a knee and say, "will you marry me" Her: ummmm let me think about it ill tell you later AWKWARD

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I remember when I first proposed. She totally didn't see it coming either. But it was so magical. Most nerve racking/exciting moment of a pre-marriage relationship! She responded, "Let's start a new chapter in our life, together." That was 23 years ago.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Aw! This is really cute. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"Knock knock" "Who's there?" "Mary." "Mary who?" "Marry me." My perfect proposal, just sayin...:)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

At 15, I think I can wait a while...
