+556 From a purely artistic standpoint, without any of its connotations, the swastika is actually a pretty cool-looking symbol. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure that it is an Indian symbol that means "luck" or "good luck"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yup, it's used in Buddhism and Hinduism.

Aww, I wanted to be the cool knowledgeable person, who says a really interesting fact.

Oh, I got a good one. The Hitler solute use to be how everyone saluted everything. We used to solute like that to the flag when we do the pledge, but they changed it after Hitler.

The symbol of which you speak is a slight variation of the Swastika. I think the Indian symbol is straight on while the Swastika is typically tilted....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're right, in Hinduism it's tilted and has dots inside the gaps.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

that too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It is. It's also the reason we (Indians), can't use the sign in public here in America. In India it's open and widely respected, but because of the dick named Hitler we're hated on if we use it in our homes or in public.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Use it anyway. Some people here are far too politically correct, they need to sober up and learn a bit more about other cultures. Forget them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I thought it meant "peace" in some native american tribe.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's too bad it's not accepted like that anymore.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Makes you wonder if today's peace sign will be tomorrow's sign of hatred.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'd hate for some future dictator to use that as his logo while he's slaughtering tons of people... Then when I'm old I'll draw it one day and my grandkids will be like 'GRANDMA, THAT'S SO RACIST."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thank you, I just got a great idea from this. :D

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How unoriginal. Its a shame that even dictators can't be creative.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'll be original in my way of massacring, executing and assassinating, don't worry. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Even though I'm assuming that you're kidding, that's a horrible thing to say

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And it's a pretty funky sounding word too.
