+135 You get pissed when people refuse to give you candy on Halloween because you're "too old", amirite?

I think if you dress up you deserve candy but if you show at my house wearing jeans and a t-shirt don't expect anything. Also, I'm probably the only person who thinks this but at some point you need to realize you're not a little kid anymore and you can't expect people who buy candy for kids to give you any.

Sure I can. I take 5 children trick or treating, I deserve some damn candy, too. I could be out drinking and partying, but I chose to go trick-or-treating. The fact someone decided to not go party in itself deserves some candy. I buy candy for trick-or-treaters, not kids.

I don't know who told you you're special for not partying, but you're not. It really is a matter of knowing when to just grow up and stop expecting adults to give you candy they actually bought for little kids.

My comment was not serious. In all seriousness though, is it that big of a fucking deal to give someone who's a little too old some candy?

This year will only be my second Holloween celebrated ever. I want some candy.

There came a point, for me at least, at which I decided that I can just buy my own damn candy if I want it so bad.

As long as people dress up I am completely okay with giving them candy, I don't care about age, and I don't care if they can buy it themselves. It's all for fun, and it's great when people can still get into the spirit and fun. When there's, usually snotty and entitled, people just in casual clothes I don't give them any candy.

I think as long as you wear a costume, it's fine. But I hate kids who walk around in regular clothes, acting like jerks, and expect to get candy. I'm a junior in high school and I'm still going trick or treating this year.

What's so bad about teenagers trick or treating? As long as they actually put effort into a costume, I don't know why so many people have an issue with it, I trick or treated when I was 15.
