It's annoying when malls hire Santas that aren't old white men. Santa is not 35, Santa is not a woman, and Santa is NOT black, so stop pretending that he is. amirite?

My Santa was always black. I don't know what you're talking about. My kindergarten teacher said he changes colors depending on whose house he is in.

I could see if you live in a black neighborhood you would have a black Santa but Santa is a fat white man. People need to stop trying so hard to be "diverse."

It's not just about being "diverse" Saint Nick might be a real man, but Santa Claus is an imaginary character, he can be blue, red, purple, it doesn't really matter... HE'S NOT A REAL PERSON. He can be an avatar for fucks sake and it wouldn't matter. The point is what he represents and if mole men dressed up as Santa can make kids happy, then why are people too old to believe in Santa arguing about it?

They tried to have Daniel wear green contacts but he was allergic to them. At least they tried to stay true to the book.

They didn't really stay true to the book. They left plenty out. I had to explain things to my boyfriend that were in the book, but not in the movie. The contacts irritated his eyes, he wasn't allergic. Throughout the book it says he has his mother's eyes, but in the movie it looks like his mom has hazel or brown eyes and his are blue...

This reminds me of that one episode of The Mentalist where the murder victim was president of The Society for the Accurate Portrayal of Santa. Okay, if you're a white kid, you can believe in a white Santa, or whatever. In my parents' household, Santa was black, and our decorations all depicted black figures. We can't exhibit a little pride? We have to have the image of a white Santa and white everything shoved down our throats?
