are you kidding me? its because he was flying high in the air. at first you just think its a bird because (from your position on the ground) he isn't moving very fast. but then you realize that whatever it is, it is too high to be a bird, so maybe it's a plane. but no, wait, it's coming closer to the ground now! Superman comic came out many years ago when people were very innocent. They may not have seen many airplanes flying quickly in the sky. That is why. You could have googled it or used any common sense to figure that out on your own.

Your question should say it as unlikely people would mistake superman for a bird or a plane. That way people can agree or dis as the site is set up.
