One of my teachers actually admitted that a lot of the stuff we learn in his class we aren't going to actually use in our everyday lives.

In my math class, instead of tests we have projects where we have to make a scenario that relates to your life and apply the unit we're learning about in class to it.

I remember when I was in algebra my teacher asked us on the first day of school "Where will you use algebra in everyday life?" and I answered "In this class." She wasn't as amused as I thought she would be.

One of my teachers said that school is just learning how to learn.

No, school is learning how to memorize some facts, regurgitate them for a test, and then forget the majority of it to make room for new facts. And thus the process continues.

I've realized that the vast majority of things I've learned in math class will only be used in my everyday life if I become a math teacher. Which I don't plan on doing.
