+745 When you're depressed and you don't have a legitimate reason (ex. rape, cancer, abuse, cheating spouse, lousy parents, etc.) to be depressed, it just makes you more depressed because you feel like you're ungrateful for your life, amirite?

The list of legitimate reasons goes rape, cancer, abuse, cheating spouse... ...and then lousy parents. One of these things is not like the others.

Lousy parents as in the type who don't take care of you, verbally or physically abuse you, control EVERY aspect of your life, etc etc.. Not lousy as in "oh, they won't let me go to this concert I hate them!" These are legitimate reasons, speaking from personal experience.

I'm pretty sure abuse is covered under abuse.

Or heartbreak. Actual heartbreak, that is.

I'm going through depression right now. It sucks. You cry for reasons like "I didn't like tonight's dinner" "I have a lot of homework" and "That little girl in the Tinkerbell movie's father is so mean!" The only good thing is it comes with a heaping side of not giving a fuck about anything.
