+422 It's so annoying when people say "Oh my God! Nickelodeon is so bad now! iCarly sucks!" The shows aren't getting bad, you're growing up. Now stop watching Nickelodeon and get a job, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, I'm not about to say the shows are getting any better, but they deinfitely aren't getting //that// much worse, we just think they are.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

no the shows are getting worse. They are to worried about being politically correct and whatnot that it's missing the humor and realness that old shows (fresh prince, home improvement, boy meets world, etc) had. cartoon-wise the 90s were the shit with rocketpower, rugrats, hey arnold, etc. annd just a fyi to the poster i have 2 jobs and i still watch cartoons.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not everything sucks now. Avatar rules!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's not going on anymore

by Anonymous 12 years ago

False. Whens the last time you caught an episode of something like fanboy and chum chum and said ya know what this is quality television right here! no, the shows theyre putting out now are horrible. If what you said was true, then why would we still like the old 90s cartoons?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because you used to like them. Those shows have sentimental value.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It pisses me off when people act like rugrats was the fucking pinnacle of human achievement. As someone who doesn't have a huge nostalgia boner for 90's nickelodeon, I don't enjoy watching those shows at all now.

lol@nostalgia boner

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I loved them back in the day, but I watch them now and realise that they weren't actually that great.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The movie was fucking awesome. (I mean the first one, when Dil was first born, and they got lost in the woods, I still fucking cry.) But the reason I think the shows used to be better, is that the jokes are just tasteless now. iCarly is definitely the worst, because they just are so disrespectful to everyone, and literally refuse to go any amount of time without making a stupid joke. In almost every Nick show, even like Big Time Rush and Spongebob, they have times when it's truly teaching a good lesson and idea, and they are far less rude to everyone. On iCarly, they praise Sam for beating people up and being rude to everyone. Even the Amanda show, which had a lot of stupid humor, was never so mean to people. On iCarly, they attempt to make it seem that adults are all mean and obnoxious, and even when they made the adults stupid on the Amanda Show, they hyperbolized it to the point that even my 6 year old self was able to realize that no one is that stupid.

im surprised OP had time to write this, with all his jobs and what not

by Anonymous 12 years ago

um...1: im a her 2: i work 2 jobs actually 3: im surprised you had to resort to attempting to pick at insecurities rather than actually defending yourself

1. i dont give a fuck 2. i also dont give a fuck and that just emphasizes my point about you not having time to write this with all your jobs. and 3. what am i supposed to be defending myself about?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I like 90's shows as much as the next guy (All That and The Amanda Show were my faves) but people do need to know when enough is enough.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I can still laugh at some of the cartoons of the 90's, even some I've never seen to disprove that it's all sentimental. I barely chuckle at the cartoons now.

Spongebob and Friendship is Magic!

Friendship is Magic!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Also, iCarly is awesome.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm so glad you used Nickelodeon as an example. I don't know if I'd agree if this was Disney.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I dont agree with this because even my parents have been saying kid tv shows have been getting worse since my childhood.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I personally really like icarly and victorious. I think they're funny. And spongebob. But I don't watch any of the other shows, they're pretty bad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's like how people say that, for example, the Rugrats were fucking amazing and Adventure Time sucks. It's probably just the same, but we're not little kids anymore.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It really depends on the channel. There has been a noticeable drop in quality with nickelodeon. There aren't any really clever or funny shows that parents and kids can watch together like Rugrats or Hey Arnold. However, you only remember the good shows from the 90's, and not the bad ones. The bad ones nowadays are fresh in your mind.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A lot of the shows lately consist of forced humor. In multiple shows, it is clear that the characters are trying way too hard to get people to laugh. I guess to me, it also seems like everyone money over genuinely entertaining a crowd. Maybe this was that way in the '90s, but I sure don't remember.

I want Cartoonnetwork, Nickelodeon, and Disney to bring back the old shows, and get rid of the newer shows. ~Sniper0092
