What if you compete against a woman? Or my friend who seemingly lacks the ability to grow facial hair (16 years without a shave)

16 year old with no facial hair =/= 16 years without a shave. As long as he didn't start puberty and growing a beard as a baby, you cannot count those years. "Years without shave" implies years when hair is GROWING but isn't being shaved.

True. Although I know a guy who hasn't shaved since his chin-fluff started growing in year 7. And that's probably the last time he had a haircut too. He's an asshole.
