Also, you shouldn't ask people you don't know that, because what if they were??

This isn't true. the average homeless CHILD is 7. Not all homeless

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yeah that's what my link says. the 3 above say otherwise..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

See above links. It says the average age of all homeless people is nine, not that far off.

My computer is being extremely slow, so I'll take your word for it, but I find that a little unbelievable. I'd imagine that at most 50% of the homeless population is under 18, so I'd imagine the average age would be like 22, considering homeless are prone to dying young, would you care to explain why the average age is as low as nine?

What is your problem with him giving this stat? And why is your tone so bitter towards him? All he did was state a fact that is a pretty powerful fact.

I was a homeless 7 year old cause my parents kicked me out and i couldn't afford college :(

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That is very unfortunate and sad :(. How did you bounce back and has that helped you be who you are today?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They arent homeless. Their home is just the outdoors.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

damn that family that threw their newborn onto the street.

You've got to be careful with statistics. For example: The study that found that "the average age of homeless people is 9 years old" could have only been a sample of very young people which could skew the results.

Every child is homeless and poor. They have no income and do not own a home.
