hey kids I beat you and drink all the time but I love your mom so it's okay.

Oh absolutely, and actually caring for the child is a close second.

I think the father should love his children. Just because he loves his wife doesn't mean he takes good care of his children.

Who says parents have to be together to be a good Father to the children? My parents have been separated since I was a baby and I have always had a great relationship with both of them.

Loving, doesn't mean being together. It means respect, blah blah.

Definitely agree. My parents divorced when I was 4, and my dad refused to even be in the same room as my mother when I grew up, let alone talk to her phone, even though she just wanted to talk about me with him. And he was the one who cheated on her and left. It was painful to see. Jackass.

Nowhere in this post did I mention it's okay to beat children haha. To me, the point is that it teaches respect, teaches how to treat others. If a man can demonstrate he loves the mother of his children, blah blah, it teaches kids a lot. My dad would do anything for my mom, and I feel it's help raise me to treat others well. I dunno, but finally, a post of mine creates some controversy! haha.

I agree with the fact that it's great if the father loves the mother. But I highly disagree with the fact that it's the BEST thing a father could do. I mean, that's just ridiculous.

People are taking it as if you love the mother you can't provide or some shit. Which is not how I mean it. But yeah okay.

That's not what anyone else is saying. It's not "the best thing", there are far better things, like putting food on the table, or loving you. Saying that it's the best thing is basically saying that Dave, whose father loves Dave's mother but not Dave, has a better father than Laura, who loves Laura but not Laura's mother.

Okay okay, if I could I'd rewrite it to "one of the best things.."
