+657 I'm a thirteen-year-old girl. It's fine that I don't want or have Facebook, and my friends should stop bugging me about it, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Same here, except I'm 14. *high five*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Neither do I; I don't mind though. Trust me, they won't ever stop bugging you though. One of my friends actually told me to make a fake account and not tell my parents.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're a girl?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No shit, Sherlock.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Thats what it says on her profile

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm 16. See, I don't really care what people I know are doing, and I don't want to tell them what I'm up to. So I don't want facebook.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm 17 and don't have one, does that mean I win a prize?!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yes! Us teens without facebooks get a very special prize: a little something called a "life". :)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That kinda rude. I have a Facebook and i still have a life. I still play outside and do homework and hang out with friends and shop and eat. Stop acting like you're better than Facebook users because you don't have one.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Chill you don't need to take it so personally. No one said that a person with a Facebook can't have a life. And no one said they were better than you either.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Apologies, wasn't trying to be rude at all :/ I shouldn't be talking, anyway: I have reddit instead of Facebook, and it's just as bad, if not worse. No offense meant, apologies! (the smiley face was there to make it joking, but it didn't do its job apparently)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Haha I was in a super pissy mood, so sorry about that. And I totally understand, reddit and 9gag are extremely addicting.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

D'you have a reddit account? I'm partial to reddit only because I knew about or for years (and lurked for years) but only recently made an account. :)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I occasionally lurk when my brother is on there. I don't have an account, unfortunately.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You should make one if you lurk a lot... I actually posted my first link for karma just last month haha. It's a totally different experience with an account.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I dunno, reddit is such a huge community, I'm content with occasional lurking.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

When you find your niche in one or a few communities, though, it really starts to feel comfortable. :) no pressure though, just a suggestion!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I keep telling myself that I'm going to go on reddit and find a community that I like, and I keep putting it off D:

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If you google "*thing that interests you* reddit" then you'll get a ton of results, try that! :)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Okay, thanks :D

by Anonymous 11 years ago

My friends 17 & doesnt have one, its all good except we usually make all our plans on facebook through their event option, and emailing her everything separately is a nuisance

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You...make me feel old... D:

by Anonymous 12 years ago

--Tits or GTFO--

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's absolutely fine. I'm 18 and don't have it and don't plan on making it either, as I've seen the damage and pain that it can cause. People are becoming more "social", but really instead of actually socializing properly, people are sitting behind their computers by themselves.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Studies have shown that social media cites improve social skills.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ha.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Good for you. It gets dangerously addicting. My grades can prove that. It's not like anybody actually has anything interesting to say on there anyway.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's fine, but it's generally an easy way to get in contact with people who you want to make plans with or find out homework from. I think it's easier just to put up a status saying "Does anyone know what the precal homework is?" than to email everyone who might know and might get online before I need to know.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think it's sad that you need to come to a site like this for reassurance.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who said she posted this for reassurance. She's posting her opinions just like everyone else...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I know this was posted six months ago (and was homepaged twice for some reason), but Facebook is on a steep slope downhill right now. This is probably the worst time to contemplate getting a Facebook account.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I hate how all the pages that I liked a really long time ago is showing up on my news feed. I know I can unlike or click "hide posts from this page," but it is really annoying having to do that every time.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You're not missing anything, trust me. This is coming from someone who has a facebook.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I remember when I got a Facebook several years ago, it was actually REALLY fun. My friend who encouraged me to make one showed me all the pages you could like, quizzes you could take, and other fun applications that really appealed to me. But now, all the pages are boring, the games are stupid, and my news feed is filled with boring status updates and advertisements from the pages that I liked. It's probably because of all the changes that have been made since I first created one. The only reason I still have it is because I need to check the group pages for clubs at school, and to easily keep in touch with my family. But overall, Facebook is going downhill.
