You didn't really mind when you found out Santa Claus isn't real, amirite?

I cried uncontrollably.

My older sis said in a tone, "You still believe in santa??". Then a few days later my dad told me, and I was actually ok with it because I felt like I was getting older, AND I still get presents.

I was in third grade and I cried like a motherfucker.

It happened gradually. There was no: 'sorry, but there's no such thing as santa' moments. I just gradually figured it out.

I don't even remember finding out. I'll assume that means I didn't really care.

I think if you realize it over time it's not as big of a blow but some mean girl in 1st grade mocked me for believing. The way you find out has a big impact on your reaction.

My dad was driving me home from school in 3rd grade and I asked him if Santa was real and he said, "...he's real as long as you believe in him". That's when I knew.

God I believed in Santa until I was almost 12... and was incredibly fucking depressed when I finally accepted he wasn't real.

i never believed in santa... my parents wouldn't let some fat white guy get the thanks for their hard work...

Omg! You must be black! lol

Or some other race that isn't white.

There were clues everywhere for me, I was a very observant child. Santa's handwriting changed every year, I found the receipts for the easter eggs in a bag on top of the fridge, little things like that. I ended up confronting my mum about it.

I was so bummed.... no old fat man that comes down the chimney to eat my cookies and take carrots and apples for his reindeer... no elf army to watch my every move and know when I'm sleeping and when I've been bad or good... Oh wait no... I was relieved...
