+298 Students should be allowed to listen to their iPods when they finish their exams early, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, but most kids don't listen to their iPods at a low enough volume so that only they can hear it. I remember that I once heard a kid's rap music loud and clear over the movie we were watching in class... did I mention that he was on the other side of the room?

Apparently its quite easy to make a voice recording of yourself reciting information or formulae and then converting that into the iTunes format, which I think is AAC. So people would then make voice notes and listen to them and would, effectively, be cheating. If you've already handed in your answer booklet or paper or what ever then it should be allowed.

I say let them go to the library and do that. people listen to music too loud that you can still hear it when they have headphones in. This way they can also get on the computers and use internet (proxy sites!) To get on amirite when they're finished with their exmas.

I'm really not so sure that's a good idea, because that might serve as a distraction to other students. I don't see the problem with just letting them leave, though.

It's annoying when they don't even let you read a book. How does that disturb anyone?

Most teachers I have let us do that. Of course we can't listen to music DURING the test but afterwards or if we're working on homework, they'll let us.

At my school we are allowed to as long as our music isn't to loud and that we had turned in our test. We can listen while working in most classes too. We can't have foods but can have iPods unless the teacher specifies otherwise :)

Honestly, I think it would lead to students spending less time on their test because they want to listen to music. If you have nothing to do after your test, you're probably more likely to look it over when you're done, take your time, and do your best. If you got to look forward to music then some people might spend less time on it.
