Well it's pretty awkward if they break up or have a fight. Plus I don't like the mental image of my brother and best friend kissing... or worse.

Yeah I know where you are coming from, but as far as I'm concerned, my sister is going to kiss (and do other things) with SOMEONE, so it might as well be with someone who I trust and know will be good to her. If they have a fight (as long as it isn't over someone cheating or something), it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Fair enough, I assume this post was thought about in terms of teenage relationships. Just try to stick it out and hope that they end on good terms when they inevitably break up then.

or vice versa not just you knowing your brother or sister is dating someone who you know is going to care about them but that your best friend is dating someone who you know will treat them good

That happened to me once. It's the most awkward thing hearing her talk about kissing and even sex with my brother.
