Or what was going on in the Americas before 1492? It amazes me how eurocentric history textbooks can be.

I'm in AP World History and apparently, only a certain percentage of the curriculum is allowed to be about Europe. It's amazing how much we didn't learn in middle school because we were so focused on Europe.

Well, Europe has historically been the most significant continent. They're the ones who conquered all the other areas.

It's even amazing how, here in the US, our curriculum doesn't care about Europe (or really anywhere else) at all after 1776. I'm taking Modern European History at my university and there's so much that I'm ashamed that I didn't know, especially when it comes to subjects like the Protestant Reformation.
