+525 Someone should invent a machine that makes you run. It could change speeds, make you burn calories, be an affordable way to exercise, and take up little to no space in your home. And they could be called "legs", amirite?

I think the point of the treadmill is to allow you to run "normally" instead of on the spot, but I do see your point .

You don't really run "normally" on a treadmill either though, running on a treadmill is easier than running outside and on a track etc.

I beg to differ. I find it is much easier to run outside than on a treadmill. My fastest mile time on a treadmill is a good 15-20 seconds slower than on a track. Maybe it's just me hmm

I just meant because the movement of the belt does some of the work rather than on a stationary road.
