+412 Girls should be born with a switch that could turn the ability to get pregnant on and off, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would be the most convenient thing in the world and we could probably solve our overpopulation crisis.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why? Isn't that what condoms and pills are for?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That doesn't solve the problem though. Even with pills and condoms, there's a possibility that pregnancy can still occur.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, like 0.001%. And it multiplies each time you use more than one method.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Still, it's a risk. I know I personally don't want to get pregnant until maybe a year or two after getting married. Obviously my future husband and I, legally bound in matrimony, are not going to remain abstinant, and I obviously don't want to get my "tubes tied" because I still want a baby, which is where the on/off switch would be awesome.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol why won't you be abstinent? Because it's normal nowadays to fuck 24/7 and expect no consequences? People have forgotten that the sole purpose for sex is reproduction, nature only made sex pleasurable for species to live on.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

She won't be abstinent because it is ridiculous to expect a married man and woman who don't want kids to not have sex.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, that's what I just said. Except sex isn´t even a recreational activity, it´s a natural necessary thing for reproduction. People are not supposed to just have it for fun and somehow block the consequences, yet nowadays it sounds ridiculous to only have sex for kids, and now it´s completely normal to have sex all the fucking time just for fun. Same with obesity. Nature has made eating fun, so that people would eat and they wouldn´t die, and nowadays everything is so accessible (including sex) that they just do it for fun and not for the purpose. And people get fat. Because they eat not for the reason nature intended. So, saying "only eat if you're hungry" sounds fine (for now at least) nowadays, but "only sex if you want kids" sounds absolutely stupid and impossible. They're the same thing.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sex, unlike eating, has always been a recreational activity because it has always been available. Just because you can get pregnant doesn't mean you shouldn't be doing it. I could have a wreck if I drive, but I still drive. As long as you're safe it makes perfect sense to have sex when you don't want children.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No. Sex isn´t man-made. It´s not a fun toy or game to play. The only reason it´s so fun is so people would do it, like animals do (who are properly following nature´s intents) and not abuse this right. Eating is exactly like sex, eating was, too, made by nature to be enjoyable, and so some people overeat. Just because eating more than needed causes health problems and sexing too much doesn´t (not personally at least, but for the planet) doesn´t mean everyone should be at it all the time and manipulating it with things like condoms. I mean, it goes against nature is my point. And no it hasn´t, it only became a recreational activity once contraceptive methods began to get made. And lol I can´t believe I´m arguing against having sex, I´m not even a prude or anything.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If sex hasn't always been a recreational activity, how do you explain the stories of ancient prostitutes or Roman orgies? They only had the pull out method and they still had sex just because it felt good. Using protection does not go against nature. Even animals have sex in a way where no one could get pregnant because it feels good, be it by having gay sex or just masturbating. As for your eating analogy, even animals overeat if food is available. Being natural does not make something more acceptable. Sex for procreation is no better than sex for recreation.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think they're talking of a bit before Roman times.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well Romans were humans, too, weren't they? They were about as much pigs and as much morons as people now (if not less). This does not prove anything. People over time, yes, found out that since sex is fun you should have it, but then they found out that pregnancy is NOT fun, so over the years they've tried to either have less of it or be more protected against nature. Yes, it does go against nature. You don't think DNA was constructed this way, just for humans to have fun with one another? Just for that, as a separate reason for sex? God, or nature, or evolution, whatever your belief, made sex pleasurable for reproduction only. It's fun, and people (and if we believe you, animals) do it and try to avoid pregnancy, but that doesn't make it nature's intention. Yes, animals can be as wrong as people, they have the same instincts. That doesn't make it right. Using a toilet, is also against nature, considering how the body is made to instinctively crouch because that aligns organs or whatnot better for pooping. Most things people do, nowadays, goes against nature. It seems normal and right, though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

DNA is structured so there will be variety in the human population. Sex is not just for reproduction. If it was, don't you think more women would find vaginal intercourse pleasurable? That's not to say it doesn't feel good, but only 5% of women "get off" from vaginal sex alone. Sex for recreation is perfectly fine. Something not being nature's intention also doesn't make it wrong. Sex feels good so people will do it. If they don't want kids they put on a condom. There's nothing wrong with that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

What do you mean by your first paragraph? Yes, diversity, but what does 5% have to do with this? And women's pleasure? What? Is this even relevant to the argument? And I only said it's unnatural, and I think doing things against nature is wrong. But I guess that's an opinion. I mean, we can't debate this: whether or not there's something wrong with it. I, personally, hate it when humans go against nature. And they do it all over the place, I'm just sick of it. If sex were the only thing, then it wouldn't be that bad. But you're fine with it, as are most people. My only argument is that it's against nature.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's relevant because you said sex is pleasurable to make people want to reproduce, but vaginal sex, the only kind that leads to reproduction, is only pleasurable to 5% of women. If you're so sick of people doing things that are against nature why aren't you living in the woods and using leaves for toilet paper?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ha! It's not pleasurable only to 5% women. Please. If that were true the world wouldn't be overpopulated. Sex wouldn't be that often. Teenage pregnancies wouldn't be in the thousands. I'm glad you brought that up, I hate modern things. But it's not easy to just choose to live naturally or to live with fucking robots. I'd gladly live in a cottage somewhere, with a garden for food and a river for fish. It's not that simple, one has to make a lot of effort, ironically, to have a simple life nowadays. Humans have got to fucking stop trying to improve everything.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So most women achieve orgasm through vaginal stimulation? During the time of the baby boom, most people didn't even believe in female orgasms. You'd give up the internet, your cell phone, cars, and food that's already killed? It's much easier said than done. It's just as hard now as it was 1000 years ago to live a natural life. Nothing is stopping you but yourself.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol, if women didn't like sex, they wouldn't have it all the time. And ono No, not the living, but the switching to that. It's easy to live a normal life. That's what we all do. Even amish people, in their own communities, are normal. And it's not food that's just "already killed", it's living creatures turned into fucking products in boxes and refrigerators. //That's// unnatural, to me. But I won't argue my beliefs, I can't convince you to agree to things like this. My only point is that don't whine about something you're not supposed to be doing anyway. It's like, if school kids were to complain about secretly texting in class being too hard, and so they wish there was an invisible cellphone or something ridiculous like that. That's how I see this post.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wearing a condom isn't hard though... Women prefer foreplay to sex. The act of sex is for the man, everything up to it is for the woman. Have you never had sex?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, I haven't had anyone to have it with, thanks for asking. But I'm sure by like 20 I'll have had it, like every fucking person nowadays, because I'm normal. I want to have it, like anyone else. It's probably fun. Have you had it? I don't care. No matter the answer, most people are still pro-unnatural sex Yes, it's not hard. This post is probably thinking of other things, too, everything. It's against the constant worry of contraception, so that they can do unnatural things and get away with it like humans do with everything else wrong that they do. The post is asking for a natural way to do something unnatural, and that's why I decided to comment.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know you don't care, but yes, I have had it. I know from experience and research that sex is for the man and foreplay is for the woman. Women enjoy sex, but they don't enjoy it in the way that men enjoy it. It just feels good for most women, but for 5% of women it feels orgasmic. You're taking an amirite post way too seriously. Sex without the worry of pregnancy would be great. Actually, I know it's great. I have sex all the time with no risk of pregnancy. Well... I'm not constantly having sex, but you know what I mean.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So it //does// feel good for women. I told you. But really, I didn't discuss and explain all this, all I said that I disagree with this because it's unnatural. Replies to that are what make me elaborate, and always make it seem like I care that much. I don´t. It´s just an opinion. Okay, here´s a better example: "People should be born with a switch to turn weight-gain on and off". Do you understand now how I see this? I mean, I'm not against sex specifically. I'm only taking the post as seriously as it's meant to be perceived.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's not meant to be taken seriously at all. It would be nice if there was a switch that cut off weight gain. As humans we're constantly looking for new innovations that make life easier. That's what nature intended. Our instincts made us look towards building shelters and using tools //to make our lives easier//. Tools are certainly not natural, but I don't see you thinking shovels are bad. What we use is not natural, but the reason we use the things we use is natural. We use shovels because they make it easier to dig and we use birth control because it makes it easier to not get pregnant. Those are two very unnatural things used for what nature intended us to do: come up with new ways to make life easier.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, we're meant to be using shelters, but for humans I think a cottage is as complicated as it should get. We don't need skyscrapers and desk jobs. And no again, we use shovels instead of our hands which other animals use, and that's fine because we're just using what nature gave us to improve upon it, but contraception was never meant to be, and so it's not the same as using shovels. "...easier to dig" is right, because we already know we need to dig, and don't want to use our hands and to be more productive. But "to not get pregnant" is not an action that animals do for survival or food, it's what humans do for recreation, which makes it unnecessary. Having tools to build houses is different, say, from having tools for sex such as toys. There are limits to what technology we should make, and most of the technology nowadays is unnecessary. Your and my computers are unnecessary. The internet is unnecessary. They do not make life //easier// which is allowed, but //funner// which is unnatural and unnecessary.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They do make life easier. Having sex without having to worry about pregnancy is easier because you probably won't stick stuck with the hardship of raising a kid and you won't have to repress your sexual desires. Now it seems like you're say fun is unnatural, which is just crazy. If all these things are unnecessary and you don't like it, then stop complaining about it and get off your computer. Go live in a cottage and get rid of technology, which does make life easier, not just more fun. Some things are more fun, sure. But being fun does not make it bad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I didn't say it's bad. And it doesn't make life easier, since it's not a necessary part of life in the first place. Toilets make lie easier, because they make a certain dirty vital thing cleaner and organized. Refrigerators make life easier, because they take the vital ingredients in our life and let us worry less about them rotting. Shovels, again, make life easier for digging which all animals do and which is natural. But computers, no. We don't need them. Condoms, we don't need them. If we'd lived proper lives like we're supposed to, it wouldn't make it easier and therefore I think it's only a useful tool if it's a component of something necessary. I'd love for life to be that easy and simple. I'd go to a cottage //right// now.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We don't //have// to dig, we don't //have// to keep food cold, and the way we poop doesn't //have// to be that sanitary. We don't //need// any of those things. They're a luxury. Yeah, they make essential functions easier, but that doesn't make them more necessary than condoms. Humans need to communicate with other humans or else they go insane. It's only natural for us to crave interaction. It is also natural for us to have sexual urges. The part that isn't natural is trying to always contain them. We weren't meant to do that. We were meant to have sex and make babies. But sometimes we don't need babies, but we still get those sexual urges, which in some cases can be very hard to hold in. So what do we do? We wear a condom so we can continue to have sex like we were meant to do even when there is no more room for babies.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If humans hadn´t ruined the entire fucking earth, there´d be plenty of room and natural sex would be proportionally correct to how it´s meant to be. I´m saying it´s natural to improve things we already need, and it´s not natural to improve new things that we only want. We need to dig to grow food, so shovels and whatnot improve that. We need to keep food in our shelter to survive longer, so we have refrigerators. Squirrels have nuts stored in their houses, hamsters, lions, etc. they all keep food stored. Fine, we went above that and want food to stay longer than them, so we made refrigerators. Animals clean up after their poop or urine, by either covering it and digging a hole for it, so we took it further and made an automatic system for that, so it would be easier to do the natural thing. Animals have sex and get pregnant, and they raise babies, but then humans come and kill them all. Then humans have sex themselves, and use extra technology to go against nature and make THEM not susceptible to getting pregnant like every fucking create in the world. So that´s how it´s unnatural. They, too, have sexual urges, yet they survive quite happily without condoms.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They survive happily without condoms because they couldn't survive with them. They would be underpopulated and we would have no meat. Humans fucked up this Earth so to continue to do what nature intended, having sex, we came up with condoms. We live in a fucked up world where we can't live natural lives. But that's perfectly okay. Nature provided us with the means to make everything we have today. Your phone and your computer both used to be part of the Earth. Humans utilized the Earth to make new things to make life easier or more fun. Fun isn't against nature. Animals play games. We have sex and to keep from fucking up the Earth more than we already have we use condoms. I don't know if you've noticed this, but humans are smarter than animals. We might do some stupid things, but we are still smarter. We found out a way to have sex and not get pregnant because we are smarter. Nature intended us to be above the animals, not equal to them. It is only //natural// that we would have innovations that animals could never dream of having. The technology we use for sex, for survival, and for fun are all unnatural, but it is natural that we came up with them.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hah, I even have a post about that. That animals are smarter than humans. Humans are fucking idiots, thinking globally over the entire history. Sure, they´ve invented things, but overall they´ve made more damage than anything or anyone else. And now that you´ve said all this, I realise that humans themselves are unnatural. It´s only logical that the things they do are unnatural too. So I guess I´m not arguing against these specific actions and tools, but rather the characteristic of humans But, there´s no reason to debate opinions such as this, it´s what you think personally and i can´t change that. I will always hate the human race and you´ll always be normal and not care about it. But pleasant talk. I like how it didn´t end with any insults or hurt feelings.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sex without protection feels better and it's more convenient to have a metaphorical button to avoid pregnancy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sex feels better without a condom, and pills often make the woman gain weight, have major mood swings, or get depressed. There's also that little 'stroke and heart attack' thing. Also it sucks if you're a smoker.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Don't get me wrong, I love the pill. It clears up your acne and cures a lot of your PMS symptoms but it's pretty expensive, especially if you take it every single day until you hit menopause. Free birth control would be amazing!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"Oh no, I forgot to turn the switch off!" (I'm assuming getting pregnant = switch on..)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would be amazing...it would also turn periods on and off=perfect world.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That would solve the problems for complaining about periods, too. "I got my perioooood. God,my life suuuuuucks." "You know damn well you can just switch it off,Mary!"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I feel like this will make more girls think they can just whore around.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Even if that were true (which it's not) free birth control would still be a good thing. It would improve women's health, education, financial status and career prospect. Plus, it would practically eliminate the need for abortion and nobody wants more abortion.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But if women "whored" around and couldn't get pregnant, what would really be the damage? Assuming they used condoms to prevent STDs, anyway.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Bad. Very bad.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How would that be bad?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It would also pretty much eliminate abortions. Unless rapists could force you to turn the switch on that is.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think this would lead to a rise in STDs.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The point of civilization is to have children and continue civilization.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Maybe if the switch could only be activated by a doctor?

by Anonymous 12 years ago
