+80 Just because american football uses pads, doesn't mean it's a pansy sport, amirite?

American football is possibly not good for you, but barely. most injuries occur from catching a ball wrong or tripping. rugby injuries occur from being smashed everywhere over and over and over

All the padding is actually potentially more dangerous. Getting hit in the stomach or knee or arm with a helmet or a shoulder pad hurts a lot more than none

american football is a pansy sport, rugby is hotter(;

Protection is used to display the true athleticism. Although rugby is a freaking mean sport, it does not require the same amount of athleticism as football.

I think playing without padding and helmets is barbaric and idiotic.

Mkay. I've lived in America and New Zealand. I've seen both sides of the Football vs. Rugby argument (lol) and I've come to the conclusion that: Rugby and Football are both pretty damn hard sports to play. They aren't 'pansy' sports, by far. Football isn't just rugby with pads guys! They have the padding and helmets for a reason. lol. The games are different, the rules are different = different uniform. Rugby is more of a raw sport. Again, different game, different rules, different uniform. In rugby, the game doesn't require pads because of the different rules. I've seen some horrific injuries in both sports too. No one has the right to call either sport 'pansy'. OH and btw, aren't some rugby players starting to wear the 'protective shoulder pads'?? I've seen a few players wear them xD lol. Protection isn't always a bad thing people. (hahahahaha that sounded bad...)
