+231 If you're really in love with somebody and have been with them for a long time, it's almost offensive when somebody who has been in a relationship for a few weeks doesn't stop saying how much "in love" they are, amirite?

But at the same time I remember knowing I was in love after a month, it's been almost 3 years and I don't doubt that I loved her then but it's now a stronger love. I do agree though some people don't know what love is. If your going to leave the relationship after the happy giddy lovey part then it was never love :3

That's actually what's supposed to happen The happy giddy lovey part has to disappear, otherwise it actually makes you sick

I know exactly what you mean. The first month or so of a relationship is always happy and lovey and cute, then it deepens and becomes even more than infatuation. It turns into love, trust, loyalty, and you become best friends with that person. It's something real. It's the person, not the feeling. Then there's people who know someone for a month and are just happy to be in a relationship, and they say they're in love and they've found "the one" when there's no deeper meaning behind it. The other day a freshman told me that she lost her virginity at 14 after being with her boyfriend for 3 weeks, but its okay because she "loved him." It made me sad for her, and at the same time angry that she would compare something like that to what I feel for my boyfriend of a year and a half.

Yea i agree , its just so weird to look back and know you were in love so early yet judge other people but at the same time its such a different type of love.

This one chick from Facebook I know, who after dating a guy for three days was saying "how in love they were" even though they had known each other maybe a few days before they started dating. I just don't get how someone can mistake lust for love.

It is mistakable. Lust and love. But rational people can think "Okay, I like this person a lot, but it's not quite love. This is lust!" Dumb people just think "I'M HAPPY AND SOMEONE LIKES ME OMG I'M IN LOVE!!"
