I'd rather know Gandalf. He can talk, hear, see, AND is a total magic badass. And Tolkien wrote 3 books about him.

They were, originally. Tolkien's mistress suggested changing the name to the more familiar 'Lord of the Rings'. Tolkien hated the idea but his mistress said she wouldn't have sex with him ever again if he didn't.
