+543 "You Belong With Me" is such an unfair song. Taylor only sings about the other girl's bad points, so we're unable to make a fair analysis about who this guy belongs with. Maybe the other girl doesn't like the guy's music because it's misogynistic, and she goes off about something that he said because it was racist. She could own a nice collection of ceramic cats, but we'd never know because Taylor Swift is too concerned with her footwear. Taylor and that racist do belong together, amirite?

Ehh he's probably too good for her. If she's whining about how he belongs with her and not that other girl, there's clearly a reason why he chose said girl instead of her...

She wastes all her time singing about a guy that she doesn't like & doesn't care about? Seems like she does care.

Fair enough, but frankly, if you take it at face value, it's the jumble of thoughts that do in fact race through a girl's mind when they see a guy they like but he has a girlfriend/crush. I never thought she was actually singing to the guy; the song was just a bunch of thoughts running through her head that she never said. Speak Now, on the other hand, makes me think of the speaker (Is it Taylor? Who knows) as possessive and manipulative. "And I am hiding in the curtains/It seems that I was uninvited by your lovely bride-to-be" Inviting exes to your wedding is just awkward. I side with the bride on this one. And "I know you wish it was me, you wish it was me (don't you? *little snicker)" to me sounds like the nice version of "You wish it was me. I don't care what you're actually thinking. You wish it was me because I have you wrapped around my finger." If everything else said and insinuated about the bride-to-be is true, if I were that guy, I'd have high-tailed it out of that town long ago.

Ceramic cats. I like it.

why, of course Taylor needs to provide all of the evidence, arguments, and possible counter-arguments to justify her feelings about somebody in a four minute song...
