So OP prefers having to rewind and fast forward over skipping complete sections of the movie, rewinding the movie after done watching, and taking up extra space on shelves?

I'll take that over being forced to watch the FBI/Interpol warnings over and over, and title screens that replay a 5 second song until I press play. Plus they're too easy to damage.

And VHS tapes aren't easy to damage? I remember on numerous occasions having to carefully pull reams and reams of film out of my VCR after the tape decided to unravel itself inside.

Same here, but it still doesn't add up to the amount of scratched DVDs I've rented that aren't even able to be watched anymore.

People generally don't care about renter as much as what they own. At least DVDs don't get destroyed by normal use. Have you ever seen a VCR crack a cassette right down the middle, leaving plastic fragments inside the player? It's not fun. Happened at my friend's house. Whole evening ruined. That, and we stepped on lego while raging

I used to love rewinding video tapes and watching the counter race back to zero. Just sayin'.

Only for classics...like Disney movies because it makes me feel like I'm living in the 90s again. :)

It depends on the movie.

Is OP trying to be hipster, or....?
by Anonymous12 years ago
No, he's just poor and is attempting to claim his system is better than the one he can't afford. That's my guess, anyways.
