+210 If your a guy, and a girl tells you that she was raped last weekend... You wouldn't know what to say to her, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"So how did it felt"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no that would be fucking stupid

-facepalm-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It was a joke ;_:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you wouldn't think of it as funny if one of your best friends said she was raped... in fact 3 of my friends were

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Definitely because the internet is srs bsns.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

definitely

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A hug would be a good start...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If she is safe now or if she reported it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"I apologise"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm sorry that a lot of guys out there are complete (insert word of choice). And then I'd make sure it was reported, that she was OK, and anything else that would console her.

This happened to me, and it was my sister. And no, i didn't report it because it was her bestfriend and she didn't want me to do it, plus the issue was long over by then. Just a simple hour-long hug and "i'm here for you" was enough. As long as your there for the person, and you listen to them they'll appreciate it.

you're* there for...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If my a guy? I have an a guy?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

0_0 you're right. I wouldn't have the slightest idea

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A hug, ask if she reported it, tell her you'll make sure nothing ever hurts her again. Atleast, that's what I would want.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If I was raped, I don't know if I'd really want a hug . . . I don't think I'd want anyone to touch me, especially a guy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ask her if she wants some more

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And a girl would know? I don't think anyone really has an answer prepared for something like that.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's a shame that its unlikely that you'd ever be in the situation, not because its a shame that nobody got raped, but if they did they'd probably be too ashamed to talk about it...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm a girl, and I know what to say NOW, but if any of my friends were to tell me they were raped, I'd be stunned speechless.

-Get her medical aid as soon as possible - this means both physical (STD and pregnancy tests, as well as a hospital visit as she may have been beaten and/or hurt) and mental - a school or uni councillor, a youth centre, a trust-worthy and wise adult -Get her legal aid, so the rapist can be prosecuted -Be there for her, but don't shoulder the entire burden by yourself -Depending on how close you are to her, comfort her, but if you're not close, then one of her friends or family, if possible -Stay close to her for a few days, to make sure she doesn't hurt herself or anything -Keep in mind that sexual assault stays with a person for a long time
