+123 Why has Kony 2012 gone viral? There have been many other noble community service projects, all over the world and in Africa, that never got this kind of publicity. Kony has been abusing children for 26 years, and it has never gained this much attention. Everyone knew about the "starving kids in Africa," but apparently that pales in comparison to them being abducted. This doesn't make any sense, amirite?

Some amazing person actually decided to care about it enough to try and spread it around and make Kony well known and to create awareness. just because it started many years ago doesn't mean we have to forget about it and can't start creating awareness.

Actually, if you research Invisible Children you'll see it's part of a scam. Not the entire thing, but part of it.

Do you have any sources or actual information regarding that? "Research Invisible Children" is pretty vague.

I do not trust a blog as a credible source.

Is that a rule, that blogs cannot contain any valid information? And again, if you still don't trust that link, you can find more sources by doing some research on the topic.

I'm confused as to why it just caught on, though. Invisible Children has made tons of movies and had plenty of nationwide events and none got attention like this. It just seems random that it's starting right now.

I don't understand why you are complaing. It's good that people are becoming aware. Just because it happened a little late doesn't mean it shouldn't happen at all. There have been plenty commercials about the starving children, and many people have donated and sent food. Why are you so offended that people are starting to care more about this? It doesn't make sense.

i'm not complaining or criticizing, i'm just confused

It's all a scam anyway.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Only part of it.

You have to start some where right? If we started with the starving children in Africa, people would moan about the starving children in India or Thailand. One thing at a time people!
