+174 Guys are self-conscious about their bodies too. Girls aren't the only ones who constantly think they are fat, amirite?

What gave you he idea the guys weren't self-conscious about their bodies? Maybe we don't care about being fat exactly cause a relatively fat guy can end up with a skinny girl, but a fat girl will almost never end up with a skinny guy. But penis size is an issue we all try not to think about...

I wasn't really saying that guys weren't self-conscious, but the insecurities of weight and looks is more often than not registered with girls rather than guys.

Girls tend to care about their weight more than guys though..

I think guys tend to want to weigh //more//. To a certain point anyway.

Guys actually want to weigh more than they already do not a lot but just a bit. The reason for it is because they want to look bigger than the next guy but at the same time not so big to still be attractive to girls.

Yeah that's true..

I don't know about you, but penis size isn't an issue for me cool

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I don't... okay. That's cool.

Everyone is under pressure to look good, but it's just naive to think that women don't have it worse than men - there is a lot more strict "policing" on what's attractive on a girl. As for the penis size thing - boob size, anyone? But ofc guys are self-conscious about their body. It's an obvious side effect of knowing people judge you based on how you look.

A woman with a big booty and small titties, big booty big titties, small booty small titties, thin, curvy, long hair, short hair, make up, no make up, t-shirt, tank top, high heels, flats, all of these are considered attractive, and you see all of these qualities of women in the media. For a man: muscles. No bro tanks. How is there more strict policing for what is attractive on a girl when pretty much any female body, as long as she's healthy, can look good, but for a guy he would need to have at least some muscle mass to be considered attractive by most people? It is not a gender issue, it is a personal issue. I know men who pluck their eye brows, get their hair trimmed every 2 weeks, shave everyday, work out, always wear cologne, always match, etc to look good and would be even more self conscious than they already are if they were, for some reason, unable to do these things. And I know girls who almost never wear makeup, don't work out, eat what they feel like, wear what they feel like, and are perfectly confident. Why is everything a guy vs. girl thing these days? "Girls get periods" "well guys can get hit in the balls". People need to stop grouping all guys and girls toget

her and realize everyone has individual problems that don't have to have any connection to what gender they are. (Obviously periods and balls are related to gender) Guys have a lot of pressure on them to be emotionally strong, to not show things like insecurity. This is probably most people would assume that guys are less affected by the perfect models they see on TV than girls are. Just like how guys often do not report physical and sexual assault because that would, in their eyes, make them appear weak, they won't admit to feeling pressure to look perfect, because in their eyes, it would make them appear effeminate and weak.
