technically it would mean they would put even more nasty chemicals in it...just shake the ketchup so it can blend =)

It means you didn't mix the ketchup well. It's not that hard. Just shake it. Ketchup turns into a solid over time if you don't shake it (but even then it can go back to liquid by shaking it).
