+75 If fetuses are people and the killing of people is illegal, then hypothetically if someone gets in a fender-bender with a pregnant woman and causes her to lose her baby that person would be going to jail for murder. Justice-wise, that doesn't make any sense, amirite?

Actually I'm usually for women's right to abort but if the woman wanted the baby then the person who hit her should be tried for manslaughter the same way he can be tried for manslaughter if an adult accidentally snaps their neck in the same car accident.

Yeah, you're right. Anyways, point is that situation's stupid and isn't very practical

They would actually be tried for manslaughter. Murder is when you intentionally take the life of another person.

I'm surprised that this has a positive score.

Unless the foetus is immediately lost there is no legal implecations. The wordt that can happen is the driver can be sued for damage. A feotus is not a legal subject

There was a case where that happened, and the person was charged with double man slaughter. If there are any negative impacts on the fetus when it's born, then the person who got in the car accident can get charged. True story

There's a major flaw in that logic...

I can't decide whether I agree with this or not. Actually no, I think it's completely fair for them to be charged with manslaughter.
