I dislike chivalry, and I'm okay with the fact that it is 'dead'. Courteousness and decency, yes, but chivalry, no. Chivalry was an honor code for knights way back in the day, and part of that code was to defend women, and portrayed women as weak and helpless and needed to be saved. Now that women have equal rights, it's unnecessary. Courtly, romantic love is another matter entirely. Golden Rule: Just don't be an ass.
