Sometimes you wish you had a regular landline phone instead of cell phone, because when you want to hang up angrily on someone, removing the phone from your ear and tapping "End" doesn't have the same satisfaction as slamming the phone loudly onto a receiver, amirite?

But many, if not most, landline phones have cradles instead of recievers, and would probably break if you slammed them.

What do you mean? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e6/Phone.svg/195px-Phone.svg.png is just as much a landline phone as one with a reciever. Most modern landline phones are cordless.

I don't have any statistics to go on, and I'm not sure there have been any polls done in that realm. But just looking at major landline phone manufacturers shows a tendency towards cordless phones, or at the very least corded phones that would be too delicate to slam. The only kind of phone I can think of you would be able to slam would be one of the analog ones.
