I had great expectations for it. I was disappointed when they weren't met...but that's not to say I don't like Charles Dickens; I do, but Great Expectations just didn't do it for me.

We had to read it in 9th grade English. It was soooo boring. It didn't help that my teacher spent like 3 months going over every little detail.

It had a lot of good plot ideas, but it was written in a way that it soon became my least favorite book

The last 50-100 pages were good. The problem was the 400 pages it took to get there.

I love that book! It's one of my favorites, and lots of people in my class loved it, though we were not the majority. I think 9th grade might be too early. I read it in AP English, so we were all pretty advanced readers. I couldn't put the book down, and I was ahead of my class most of the time, lol.

That was the second worse book I have ever read (with the worse being The Old Man and the Sea) I had to read it for english, and I guess I just hated the style of writing because it was made during the time when authors would get payed by the number of words they used or the length or something like that, so it was written in a way where it would spend like five chapters on like NOTHING. I'm not joking. I literaly fell asleep reading it...on multiple occasions. But alot of people liked it...I personally prefered books like Animal farm and A Separate Peace.
