+177 Sam saved Frodo's life from a giant spider after he trusted Gollum intead of his closest friend, rescued Frodo from a band of orcs only to be rebuked by him for taking the ring and keeping it safe, carried Frodo up Mount Doom, and then saved Frodo again when he gave in to the ring's temptation and and almost fell off a ledge with it. So why does Frodo get all the credit? amirite?

Well, yes, Sam is a very amazing friend and hero, but people honestly aren't fair to Frodo. It took a lot of effort to resist the ring - so many people were instantly corrupted by it, but Frodo bore through it all. He went through mental Hell (in the books, he says he can't even remember what the sky looks like or what strawberries taste like, etc.) He knew he was probably going to die, but he went anyway. He ruined himself - when he came back, he was never the same and couldn't get enjoyment out of the Shire like he use to. The ring destroyed him. In the books, at one part, Sam had the ring for a little while and when Frodo asked for it back, Sam became extremely reluctant. That was after only having it for a day. Imagine how much temptation Frodo had. Sam is amazing and wonderful and everyone should have a friend like him, but at the same time, don't undermine what Frodo did. Sorry for typing so much; I'm a bit of a Tolkien nerd.

Why should Frodo get to stomp around like a giant, while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? What's so great about Frodo? Hmm? Sam is just as cute as Frodo. Sam is just as smart as Frodo. People totally like Sam just as much as they like Frodo. And when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody, huh? Because that's not what the Rings are about. We should totally just STAB Frodo!
