+213 Fanfiction readers: you wouldn't broadcast this fact to the people you see every day, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Sometimes I tell someone about a book that I read, and I just leave out the part about it being a fanfiction...

All the time.. Once, a friend caught me.. she had read the same story! It didn't help that I am viewed as "innocent" and the story had some citrus content. Funny thing, I felt so much closer to her afterwards.

@chloerose: citrus content hello

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What's citrus content? I've seen it before in the descriptions, it'll say lime or lemon and I've always wondered what it meant.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@Klaire: It means a really graphic sex scene.

I just say I read stories written by average people on the internet. And if someone asks what they're about, I tell them. I just "forget" the names of the characters.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I also wouldn't mention the fact that I WRITE fanfiction, either.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

If you don't mind me asking, what do you write for?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Um, do I really have to answer that? lol. Pokemon, InuYasha, Liberty's Kids, Xiaolin Showdown, The Secret Circle, The Hunger Games, The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Naked Brothers Band, and that's really all I can remember right now. I write a lot so sometimes it's hard to keep up with everything I've ever written. Some I posted online, others I haven't. The very first fanfic I ever wrote was an Avatar: TLA fic and it was so horrible looking back at it, I'm really glad I never actually posted it online. The first fic I ever posted online for other people to actually, like, READ was a Naked Brothers Band fic. Yes, I wrote Naked Brothers Band fanfiction. I was so in love with Nat back then it was just scary. Not so much anymore, though, thank God. My fanfiction hobby is not something I like to advertise to people who aren't into it as well. Do you write, too, or just read?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I only read, though I've considered it. I love videogame fanfics; I do like The Hunger Games.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I've never read any video game fics. Okay, technically, Pokémon is listed under games on fanfic, isn't it? But I only read and write based on the anime and what's canon there, not the games. The Hunger Games is awesome, and the fact that Josh Hutcherson plays Peeta makes the movie almost as awesome as the book; I've had a crush on Hutcherson ever since I saw Bridge To Terabithia when I was twelve. If you really want to, you should totally write something and put it up. What website do you go on? I go on fanfiction.net and most of the people on there are really cool and nice about things. Sure, there are some flamers, but the majority of people on there are are awesome and, when they review, they're generally really nice about what they say. I'm just saying give it some thought; the world could use more fanfiction writers, and it's really amazing what writing fanfiction can do for a person.

That's where I go as well. I have read fanfics greater than the actual novel:) If you want to, you can send me your fanfiction.com username..

When people ask me what I'm reading, I usually just respond with "Oh...y'know...a story." When people ask me what I'm writing, I usually just respond with "Oh...y'know...a story."

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's what I do. I change names as well. That is why I was surprised I was caught.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah...you'd think that I wouldn't but I do....I also have the link to my fanfiction page in my amirite profile and on my facebook....I have fanfiction open on my phone and iPod and 2 different computers...I'm out of control...
