+273 It sometimes seems like the more complicated a person's racial background is, the more gorgeous they are, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

By removing the racial differences, you probably come closer to the 'default' appearance of a human, which is ingrained into our brains to be extremely attractive.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The "default" appearance of a human is an idea within the minds of individuals. Typically, our personal ideas of the "typical" human are based on what we've grown up with, so many people (though certainly not all of them) tend to be attracted to members of their own race/ethnicity.

I mean biologically, what a human looks like. Ie, what Adam looked like. I'm not totally sure that that bit of the Bible is true, but you get the point right? It's safe to assume that all humans were once one race, then over the two millions years of our existence, the environmental differences created racial differences in us. Mixing the genes of different races would in theory recreate that first Homo sapiens, which would be biologically programmed in us to be the most handsome/pretty possible genetic combination.

I have a complicated racial background (three countries, is that complicated enough?) but I'm ugly as fuck :O inb4 "omg attention whore"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Depends on which three countries. If it was something like France, Uganda, and Japan, that would be pretty complicated, but if it was Brazil, Argentina, and Venezuela there probably wouldn't be that much genetic variation between the three.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well damn you got one of them right (Japan). The rest is Sweden and England.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't know if I would classify that as extremely complicated (part white, part Asian), but it's definitely more complicated than most peoples'. I'm also mixed (Chinese, German, and Swiss) but I consider myself pretty average-looking.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Man, I'm actually pretty jelly, even for average looks. That way the opposite sex is not completely turned off by your looks (it's happened to me far too many times :/) but at the same time they do not think you are a douchebag for being attractive.

"sometimes" yes, sometimes.

I decided to test this theory, and picked Angelina Jolie. She is Slovak, German, Slavic, French Canadian, and Dutch. I'm gonna say that's pretty complicated and diverse.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm Russian, Polish, Czech, German, and Comanche, but I look pretty average.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The thing is besides Comanche those are all very close to each other. Geographically and in terms of looks. A better example is someone who is Korean, Ghanaian and French.

Beyonce's like that too, right? And Jessica Alba (though I'm not sure...)

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I think Beyonce is part black, part French, and part Native American.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Kind of like those girls who you think are black but aren't sure 'cause their skin isn't //that// dark.. But, from my experience, those kind of girls always turn out to be really pretty(:

Cuban, German and scottish. But I just look German so nobody believes the Cuban part.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The only thing that I know about myself is that I'm 1/2 Mexican and 1/8 Dutch, so I have no idea if I have a racially diverse backround. All I know is that my sister looks very exotic and beautiful, so I'm guessing it's pretty diverse.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Damn it. why am i just plain white?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Haha!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

English, Irish, Dutch, Swedish, and Cherokee is all I know. But I don't think that it's very diverse.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm Irish, Russian, German, Polish, Ukrainian, French, Austrian and Czechoslovakian. Lots of different countries, but still all European.
