The "hymen" is a myth intended to keep women in their place and scare them from exploring their sexuality. The idea that the hymen is a membrane that covers the entire vagina, which has to be "ruptured" or "broken" by the Big Mighty Penis, is NOT TRUE. The corona consists of folds of tissue inside the vaginal opening. The corona does not break or disappear. It does, however, change throughout a woman's lifetime. It can get stretched because of tampons/menstrual cups, sex toys, fingers, or a penis. Like I stated in the long comment above, virginity is a social construct, and it's up to you to decide when you consider yourself to be a person who has had sex. For more information about the hymen/corona, here's two great resources: Scarleteen (an amazing feminist sex ed website): http://www.scarleteen.com/artic...at_surround_it Laci Green (sex-positive videoblogger): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qFojO8WkpA
