Man, barring people I met on this site, I don't want any of my friends here. THIS IS MY PLACE FUCK MY FRIENDS.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I feel the same way... so far, I have kept it a secret.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, I hope you still feel the same way if the site dies because there's not enough users :)

I think the site's actually better with less people, there's no annoying mliaers, and we can have inside jokes on here, which we couldn't if there was too many people.

I agree that I love the sense of community that we have because of having less users but the fact is we're running out of good posts to fill the homepage with. Basically the options are 1. Have way less posts on the homepage 2. Have worse posts on the homepage 3. Have the current users create more/better posts or 4. Get more users. I definitely think #4 is the best option but if you don't agree that's okay, I'm just expressing my opinion.

@Klaire: Congrats, you are the cancer that is killing Amirite.

First person to disagree with my comment openly. Simply attracting as much attention as possible is rarely a good thing, and often leads to the death of good sites. Perhaps as the owner of the site, you'd rather see it flourish regardless of the reason. As a relatively active and old member of the site, I'd prefer it to remain as it is. I like the current members and semblance of exclusivity. I enjoy the current social infrastructure, and that this place is unique. Bring in a bunch of members, and that all collapses. Outside media will penetrate the site more than it already has and change it entirely. It will more than likely become the latest in a slew of meme-sites that all steal jokes from each other. Above all, though, I just don't want MY friends in particular on here.

Ant: True. You're the only one who can address that, since I don't have access to the number of people who actively use the site. If you say people are leaving, then I can only believe you. Amy: Good point. That's why I'm not sharing it with my friends, though. I don't have the same mind set as my friends.

I'd share amirite with my tumblr friends but not facebook.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I refuse to tell my friends about any of this because I don't think they're worthy of this site. They will have to earn that privilege. (;

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It would be an indirect way of coming out for me. Even though I'd like to share this site with people, way too much of my inner self is littered through many, many posts.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The only people I have ever told about this site are my sisters. They don't like it. What losers.
