+269 It's too early to make jokes about the The Dark Knight Rises shooting, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Didn't you just make a post about it though?...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It was deleted, sadly... "The Dark Knight Rises will blow you away. Its a grand finale that will leave you breathless. You will be crying your eyes out like someone threw tear gas in the theater. It will leave a hole in your heart that just can’t be filled, amirite?" It's offensive apparently...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's sad when people are overly sensitive on the fucking internet.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Believe me, it takes A LOT to offend me, but it's way too soon to be making jokes like that. Some of those people aren't even in the ground yet. Show some class.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Harsh. I thought it was clever.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@app awesome: that was actually very offensive. if nobody died or was seriously injured, it might be okay. not as funny as it might seem to you.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

People die everyday. I shouldn't be forced to feel bad for something that had no relevance to me. Do you feel sorry for the hundreds of people that died yesterday or the day before? No, I didn't think so. The incident was awful, yes, but the jokes might be one way to move on.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I never said you should feel bad. I said you should show some class. I don't make jokes about people that just died (who were innocent) no matter how it happened. But I especially don't make jokes like a heartless douche about people who were mercilessly murdered by a psychopath.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Hey I don't either. I just appreciate his cleverness.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@greatrande: It's not that they died, it's that they //didn't deserve to//. Some guy killed twelve people as a publicity stunt(that's what I think, honestly). And attempting to find humor in death is /not// a way to move on. A six year old girl //died//. She wanted to just watch a movie with her mom, and she was shot. If you find humor in that, than you are one sick bastard. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/120722-sullivan-vlg-2p.grid-6x2.jpg That's a picture of her.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That was fucking hilarious. Every 10 seconds 17 people die. That means more people died elsewhere in the span of that shooting than the shooting itself. Sensitivity to the dead is for individuals who personally knew the deceased individuals, but I've always fallen short of sensitivity for people you don't know who followed the natural course of life, death is everywhere. If that deleted post was made by you, cheers for being fucking witty

Everybody dies- Dr. Gregory House

by Anonymous 11 years ago

@Everyone In 2010, 14,748 people were murdered. That's about 40 people a day. I'm willing to bet that most of those people didn't deserve to die either, but yet no one cares about their deaths. So why is this one incident important? Because the media picked it up? How cruel is that?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

People die of AIDS all the time, society deems it acceptable to joke about that for some reason. I guess just because I'm an asshole, I will throw in the one about this I know. "The shooting in Aurora totally ruined the Dark Knight movie for me. My pirated copy is all messed up with the audience members running about." I'm gonna post this as anon, just in case. Call me a pussy.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Don't worry Anon. I appreciate the cleverness.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I saw The Dark Knight Rises in theaters not too long ago in Aurora. The gunshots sounded so realistic!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I disagree with my own post.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well damn. And here I am, favoriting this post because I thought someone on the internet finally grew a heart in regards to this tragedy.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, I saw on FB some meme of Spiderman with the caption of "At least people weren't shot at my premiere", and it seemed WAY too soon!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well, 12 people died. So we have to wait 12 days, right?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I highly doubt that the internet cares about timing its jokes as to not offend anyone.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Oh, for goodness sake. Stop getting offended if you weren't involved. None of you bitching and moaning about the jokes being "TOO EARLY!!! :((" were even involved in the whole ordeal. Unless your friend or a family member died in it, or somebody you know knew a person who died in it, etc., you have absolutely no reason to bitch. Otherwise, go right ahead. The problem with being offended is that almost always, it means nothing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

So people aren't allowed to feel emotions from a tragic event unless it happened to them specifically?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You can feel upset all you fucking want but do NOT, don't you //dare//, tell people to shut up because they aren't upset over it. You weren't involved, and you have no right to tell people what to do just because you're fucking offended. That's how shitty laws are made.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ding ding ding! Congratulations mother fucker! You've found the one person on amirite that does in fact live in that area! And as a bonus, we will throw in a brand new story of how he has multiple friends who were shot!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Good, then you have every right to be offended. I'm sorry for your loss. Everyone else, though, needs to pull their head of their ass. I wouldn't want some random people to yell at others just for making a joke about my father. Who do they think they are?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I came to the comments hoping for a bunch of good puns..

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Have you heard about the new batman movie? I hear it's to die for.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How about we don't make jokes about it. Ever.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

People will eventually poke fun at this. Whether it's to use humor to try and move on from the event, or just because everyone else is allowing them to try and be funny with their jokes about it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The people sitting behind their screens wouldn't have the courage to proudly joke about something like this irl outside of the confines of the internet

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Honestly, I'm normally one of those people that jumps on offensive jokes but I still think it's too soon. Some of victims were so young and everybody there just wanted to watch a movie. I don't care if people makes jokes about it, but I'm not going to and I won't laugh when I see them. People are going to make jokes about anyways, I know, but I think it'd be more appropriate to wait until the hype around it kind of dies down because it's still very shocking to a lot of people.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

You are all dumb.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Wow that was so vague it is impossible to tell if you mean the YYAs or the NWs

by Anonymous 11 years ago

"all"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Then his comment makes no sense. He is stating in a random post that he thinks everyone is dumb, no matter what their opinion is.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

ur dumb

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Although I will admit I have chuckled at several jokes about tragic events in the past, I honestly don't think there will ever be a "right" time to joke about any time where people were killed, rather it be 2 people or 2 million people.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It was a great movie to die for
