+201 Nudity should be more acceptable, but less sexualized, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's how it is in most of the world outside the US wary

How are you supposed to make a penis less sexual?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

yes thank you, as a little kid i didn't understand why i couldnt just walk around everywhere naked, it still doesnt make that much sense. if everybody did it, it would not be as much of a big deal to see someone's penis or boobs. people would stop making so many judgements about others about how they dress, it would just solve alot of problems in my opinion

by Anonymous 11 years ago

in a perfect world you'd be right, but realistically this would make more problems in the world as well. imagine for example, for men in particular, that women you may be interested in could see how your body reacts when you are around them. it would make social interactions between genders difficult. another thing would be the obvious need for more cleanliness in every area as you could pick up an std from sitting at the same place as someone with one. finally let's just end on the fact that changing climate requires us to wear different clothing.

well if you're used to nudity, it wouldn't arouse you as much.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

fair enough, but wouldn't that cement the idea in more securely? because to still be aroused would mean deeper feelings that you may not be ready to share. but i could be wrong c: . It's all hypothetical really.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Not being aroused by nudity... do you not see a problem there?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

if you saw it constantly everyday before you started puberty, from people of all ages, after you started puberty it still probably would not be that big of a deal

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It probably wouldn't and that's a problem. People are supposed to be arroused by nudity. People are drawn into someone by their looks, if there wasn't an insentive to have sex that'd be bad. It's not like most animals where they mate in season by just going up to someone and maybe doing some kind of little ritual like hopping around and flapping their wings to attract a mate. We don't have fur or feathers of a hard shell to protect us from the weather and nature, we have pretry much bare skin.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

but even humans have mating rituals, just not as obvious. say a guy plays a song for a girl on guitar and sings. it is "romantic" and it attracts the girl to the boy sometimes

by Anonymous 11 years ago

That's something only some guys do. Jumping around and flapping your wings to attract attention is something //all// of that species does. For it to be considered a mating ritual, everyone has to do it.

When I was little, before a bath, I would run around the house naked, screaming "I'm a naky baby!". We all should just be naked all the time. Then it wouldn't be so sexual. And if you wanted to wear clothes, that would be your choice.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This is a perfectly phrased post!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I might not be getting this because my brain is kinda groggy, but can you explain what you mean by "less sexualized"?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What they mean by less sexualized is we should stop treating people's bodies solely as sex objects. Like when a woman wears a skirt that shows her thighs people should think "Oh look it's an ordinary old leg" instead of thinking "OMFG you can see that slut's thigh! Hide the children! Sheild your eyes!"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Thank you. I still don't know if I agree - sexuality is a fact to be embraced, not hidden or ignored - but at least I understand better now.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that fact that the human body is sexualized. When no one else sees your's or your partner's body, it makes it a lot more special that you get to see it. Also, evolutionarily people are drawn into someone's looks so that they can reproduce healthy offspring; if the human body wasn't a turn on and people weren't drawn in by someone sexually, there wouldn't be as much incentive to have sex.

Too late to edit this in, but it feels good to be //sexy// to someone.

I remember peeing with the door open as a kid all the time, and then my grandma visited and told me to shut the door, since I wasn't little anymore. (I think I may have been around 7 or 8). I remember feeling so embarassed and ashamed and it was then I realised we're taught to be embarassed of our bodies, it's not an innate thing.
